As the war escalates in Ukraine, GIFT Global Initiative is sending humanitarian aid to the people impacted by this war. The armed conflict in eastern Ukraine has impacted the lives of millions of people living in the eastern Donbas region and other parts of the country. At least 54% of people in need of aid are women and girls, 13% are children, and 13% are people with disabilities. On the front lines, more than 430,000 children are living with psychological wounds and need ongoing support to address the emotional trauma they’ve experienced. The invasion of Ukraine could leave up to 50,000 civilians dead or wounded and worsen the country’s humanitarian crisis with up to 5 million refugees fleeing. An estimated 2.8 million people have now fled their homes in Ukraine and escaped to Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and other neighboring countries. Cash is the best way to help in an evolving emergency like this. Why? Needs will vary greatly. A cash donation gives the people impacted by this war the flexibility to get help where its needed most. It also allows us to buy products locally, eliminating the cost of shipping and thereby putting your donations to a better use. Your donation to GIFT's Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund will go towards buying supplies locally, also shipping the 500 pounds of humanitarian aid sitting in our warehouse, distributing it in Ukraine to help communities through this prolonged conflict and its long-term impacts.
