We would like to extend our gratitude for your continuous support to the Sports for Solar Initiative which checks 10 out of the 17 SDGs. Since its inception in 2018, this initiative has expanded from 1 country to 17 countries and reached thousands of children in Africa, the US and South America. Through this event, we have been able to provide year-round sports education and affordable solar-powered lights to these families and plant trees around the community. Before this initiative, these families lived in extreme poverty without access to sanitation, water, and power. The water looked filthy, and the streets were filled with excrement. Connecting such shantytowns to the electricity grid has been extremely time-consuming, and costly. This unique initiative has not only helped these families access cheap, portable, and clean power to alleviate poverty and increase their quality of life but has done so with year-round sports (Soccer, Tennis and Net Ball) education for the children. We aim at providing 2 million households access to low-cost portable solar energy while simultaneously planting 2 million trees for every solar light donated, and all of this is accomplished through the powerful medium of sports. The next series of events will take place on October 14 and October 15., 2023 Sports for Solar is part of our Diplomacy Initiative and a great example of a successful Private Public Partnership! GIFT puts together Sports events where children compete as a team to win. At the end of the tournament, which typically lasts an entire day, all participants go home with portable solar lights, bringing light to their households, in many places lighting up these communities for the first time. Socially conscious individuals as well as brands see a value in Sports for Solar. Together, we are not only lighting up communities but also introducing and advancing sports such as Tennis and Soccer that could benefit immensely from tapping into large pools of talent in poor communities. This unique program could herald an improved outlook and increase awareness about climate change in every part of our world.
