Guided by our philosophy “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime” , the ultimate aim of GGI Works is to create full employment across the communities we empower. It plans on reducing entitlements from both Social Security and welfare, instead focusing on putting people into full-time work.
We believe that the collective power of economic development, food security and nutrition, can empower families on the path to living incomes. When those components are multiplied by the positive impacts of gender equality and social capital, communities achieve greater resilience and a sustainable reduction in hunger and poverty.
Achieving a living income means that all the income of a household earned/generated or transferred, whether cash or in-kind, is enough to enable all members of the household to afford a decent standard of living. Additionally, families can educate all their children and feed themselves nutritious food every day, and have proper housing, water, hygiene and all other essential resources.
