GGI Equine Assisted after school program provides a great and affordable introduction to horseback riding for young riders ages 6 to 12. During a typical session each child will have the opportunity to ride, groom, and help tack up. Riding and caring for horses provide a total body workout, builds self-confidence, and promotes self-control and responsibility. Riding is a sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. As with all riders, regardless of age or experience, safety is the most critical element of our programming, which involves a safety driven approach of growing student-horse interaction from zero at program start, up through full student riding independence, based on students graduating through program development requirements.
We provide students with a unique opportunity to engage with horses while developing essential life skills. Each session is designed to promote personal growth, teamwork, and responsibility, fostering a sense of community among participants. Through structured activities, students’ progress from basic horse handling to riding independence, all while adhering to rigorous safety protocols.
This program not only enhances equestrian skills but also boosts confidence, discipline, and problem-solving abilities. By integrating educational elements with hands-on experiences, our equestrian after school programs ensure that students leave with a well-rounded understanding of horse care and a deeper appreciation for the equine world.
